The Crick Crack Club presents Morgana le Fey

Performance Storytelling by Xanthe Gresham & Nick Hennessey

Xanthe Gresham and Nick HennesseyFrom Merlin to Malory, Camelot to Excalibur, Morgana le Fey has reigned supreme as the fiendish counter Queen to King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Playing by her own rules, she foils their quests, dismantles the fragrant towers of each princess and wreaks general havoc from the safety of the shadows.

Why?

Tracking down the spaces in between her many myths, internationally renowned performers and storytellers, Xanthe Gresham and Nick Hennessey use music, games and story to check-mate medieval misogyny. The result? Thoroughly Modern Morgan, lightning rod of Avalon, is centre stage at last. 60 minutes.

  • Written and performed by Xanthe Gresham and Nick Hennessey
  • Directed by Juliet Forster
  • Movement Consultancy by Jude Bird
  • Produced in association with York Theatre Royal

Gresham is a truly great storyteller who unwraps each story like the petals of a lotus flower

British Theatre Review

Gresham sews everything together with passion, intensity, shards of humour and the economy of performance that marks out storytelling.

York Press

A fine voice, pure and unforced. Nick Hennessey’s fluid style and engaging presence is a winning combination…a compelling demonstration of storytelling’s many faces.

The Times

…spellbinding…tapping at the ancient roots of Britain.
